Part of the University of Alabama at Birmingham system, the Spain Rehabilitation is one of just 16 facilities designated a Model System for traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury care. The center offers a range of care options, including assistance with mastering wheelchair use, constraint-induced therapy, and a health clinic specifically designed for women. Spain also offers several specialized clinics focusing on specific health concerns and solutions, including brain injuries, speech therapy, physical therapy, and audiology. Because the center works with many injuries, not just spinal cord injuries, it is equipped to deal with the range of symptoms associated with spinal cord damage.
