PossAbilities is a FREE community outreach program developed by the Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus (LLUMCEC). Its goal is to offer disabled individuals who were born with or have suffered a permanent physical injury a sense of community and provide activities and practical help to integrate them back into life-once again giving them the opportunity to become valuable members of our communities.

HeadNorth Peer Mentoring Program

Has a dedicated peer mentoring program specifically for individuals who have just sustained an injury (within 60 days).

Mentors are all volunteers, we train them, do background checks, and manage all of the matching of peers to mentees to ensure a good support system.

Here at Project Walk in Los Angeles, we have developed an SCI team. Our team consists of highly trained Spinal Cord Injury, therapists, SCI victims, friends and family members. Each meeting is uniquely orchestrated to be informative and beneficial to all those suffering from some sort of SCI.  We have guest speakers who come to educate and make people’s lives better. Education on fitness, dieting, proper hydration and any questions regarding SCI issues will be answered with our teams, brilliant minds and education. We offer peer support every day of the week.

Women on Wheels (WOW) Support Group gathers to share thoughts and feelings about current life challenges, victories, and visions. It is a great opportunity to offer support to one another in a safe environment. The group also holds social events and educational meetings. This group is for women only and is facilitated by Sharp Rehab social workers. We will provide snacks and beverages.
